This college of teacher education for women, unaided in nature is managed by the Sisters who belong to the Congregation of the Holy Family (CHF), founded by the Blessed Mother Mariam Thressia. CHF sisters manage various educational institutions and social centres all over the country and abroad. This college has started its functioning in the month of August 2002 on the basis of the sanctioning order received from the Calicut University bearing No.GAI/D3/2102 dated 12-8-2002 and the NCTE order No.FKL/SE/N/08/SRO/NCTE/ 2002-2003/2314 dated 5-8-2002. The sanctioned intake of students in this college is limited to 100. Academic activities for the maiden batch of Teacher Education Graduate Students in this college started during the academic year 2002-2003.The College extended family shall ever remember the impeccable and untiring spade work made by the Provincial Superior, Sr.Gracias Irimpen, for the establishment of this institution dedicated to excellence in education.
The Institution was conferred minority status by National Commission for minority Educational Institution 2010. Our College is quite uncompromising in providing the students with the best amenities. Our growth towards academic excellence is due to the commitment and concrete enterprise of our teachers and administrative staff.The college was started to meet a precise need, ie, to train teachers for the secondary & Higher Secondary schools in our country and abroad.
